Their expert management of materials helps prevent the spread of disease, safeguard the environment, and protect identities, making them a trusted partner in promoting health and well-being worldwide. The company emphasizes its mission to responsibly and sustainably protect health, safety, and the ecosystem through its innovative services.
The Shred-it Route Driver role at Stericycle is a critical position dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service while managing the secure destruction of confidential documents. This position operates within the regulated framework of compliance and safety laws, ensuring materials are handled properly from start to finish. Working a Monday-to-Friday schedule with early morning start times of 6 am or 7 am, the role offers shifts lasting 9 to 10 hours, compensated at a competitive rate of $23.50 per hour with time and a half pay after 40 hours. The driver is responsible not only for the physical tasks of loading, unloading, and securing cargo, but also for conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintaining detailed documentation such as DOT logs.
The successful candidate will perform site and offsite document shredding, operate company equipment safely and efficiently, and adhere to all applicable federal and local regulations regarding driver fitness and operational hours. They will manage customer accounts, using handheld technology to ensure accurate service tracking and barcode verification. The Shred-it Route Driver acts as a key liaison between Stericycle and its customers, addressing inquiries and solving problems promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Stericycle encourages a diverse workforce and welcomes candidates who can effectively communicate in English to comprehend traffic signs and regulatory documents. The position may require immunizations and additional credentials dependent on specific client requirements, affirming the company’s commitment to health and safety standards.
Stericycle prides itself on offering comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, prescription coverage, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, and employee assistance programs. Additional perks such as tuition reimbursement, paid vacation, sick leave, 401(k) plans, and stock purchase options contribute to a supportive and rewarding work environment. Applicants who join Stericycle become part of a forward-thinking company that values equal employment opportunity and provides reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities. This role not only promises a meaningful career path but also a chance to positively impact public health and environmental safety through responsible document destruction and waste management services.
