Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • appropriate state technician license/registration required
  • ability to work in various positions including sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, reach, and walking for prolonged periods
  • ability to handle chemicals safely with adherence to safety precautions
  • proficiency in using compounding equipment and pharmacy software
  • ability to wear required compounding safety equipment for long periods
  • must maintain patient confidentiality and comply with regulatory requirements

Job Qualifications

  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • appropriate state technician license/registration required
  • PTCB certification preferred if not a state requirement
  • compounding and/or laboratory experience preferred
  • must be able to read, understand SOPs and all guidelines as they relate to the process

Job Duties

  • Maintain a working knowledge of applicable pharmacy rules and regulations
  • follow all policies and procedures set forth by the company
  • strong comprehension of USP 795 and USP 800
  • have a strong working knowledge of pharmacy software
  • prioritize and prepare formula and compounding records
  • compound medications accurately and efficiently
  • file necessary paperwork
  • perform routine cleaning and maintenance duties
  • assist with ongoing and month end inventory
  • assist in initial and continuous training of staff
  • pull outdated medications for destruction
  • restock supplies and keep pharmacy neat and orderly
  • maintain compliance with company patient confidentiality requirements
  • maintain a clean and orderly workspace
