This Driver role at Performance Foodservice offers an excellent opportunity to be an essential part of America’s food distribution network. The position requires driving a straight truck or van either intrastate or interstate along local routes to deliver and unload a variety of food and related products to customers. This role is particularly responsible for handling urgent deliveries arising from order mispicks and other urgent customer service concerns. The work schedule is a 5-day work week with the expectation of Sunday to Friday availability, including floating between different schedules. On days when coverage isn't needed, typical working hours run from 3:30 pm to 12 am.

The driver must ensure all deliveries are performed in compliance with company policies as well as Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, prioritizing safety and professionalism. Candidates will play a critical role in maintaining the safety of freight, securing vehicles, performing vehicle inspections, and completing accurate paperwork linked to freight deliveries. There is also a strong emphasis on housekeeping duties and adhering to safety protocols throughout all activities. The driver will also be responsible for collecting payment when applicable and managing customer returns.
