Job Description

Performance Foodservice, a division of Performance Food Group (PFG), is a prominent broadline foodservice distributor known for its extensive range of quality products and exceptional customer service. The company has established strong connections with various local clients, including independent restaurants, hotels, healthcare facilities, schools, and quick-service eateries. The team supporting these customers comprises knowledgeable sales representatives, expert chefs, consultants, and other specialists who assist in enhancing operations, menu development, product selection, and operational strategies. Performance Foodservice not only delivers delicious food but also supports independent restaurant owners and other foodservice businesses in achieving their goals. With a commitment to a safe and inclusive work culture, a focus on employee recognition and respect, and a drive for continuous growth, Performance Foodservice offers a vibrant and rewarding work environment for its employees.

This Driver role at Performance Foodservice offers an excellent opportunity to be an essential part of America’s food distribution network. The position requires driving a straight truck or van either intrastate or interstate along local routes to deliver and unload a variety of food and related products to customers. This role is particularly responsible for handling urgent deliveries arising from order mispicks and other urgent customer service concerns. The work schedule is a 5-day work week with the expectation of Sunday to Friday availability, including floating between different schedules. On days when coverage isn't needed, typical working hours run from 3:30 pm to 12 am.

Pay for this position is competitive at $22.00 per hour, coupled with comprehensive benefits from day one, including health and wellness options, employee stock purchase plan, employer-matching 401K, education assistance, paid time off, and more. The driver must ensure all deliveries are performed in compliance with company policies as well as Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, prioritizing safety and professionalism. The role demands interaction with customers, vendors, and co-workers while maintaining the highest standards of customer service and operational procedures. Candidates will play a critical role in maintaining the safety of freight, securing vehicles, performing vehicle inspections, and completing accurate paperwork linked to freight deliveries. There is also a strong emphasis on housekeeping duties and adhering to safety protocols throughout all activities. The driver will also be responsible for collecting payment when applicable and managing customer returns.

This position supports a culture of safety and regulatory compliance, making it ideal for individuals who take pride in punctuality, accuracy, and maintaining a high standard of vehicle and freight care. Performance Foodservice’s commitment to diversity and equal employment opportunity ensures that every employee is valued regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under local, state, and federal laws. If you are looking for a stable, rewarding career in the logistics and food distribution sector with opportunities for growth and a supportive work environment, this position is an excellent fit.
