The Yard Driver, Non-CDL role at Performance Foodservice plays a crucial part in the company’s role within America’s food supply chain. The position is designed for individuals who take pride in performing essential work that supports the timely and safe distribution of food products to customers. In this position, the Yard Driver is responsible for maneuvering tractor trailers on company premises, including loading docks and designated parking areas, as well as transporting trailers to offsite maintenance or inspection locations. Operating without a commercial driver’s license, the driver ensures that trailers are parked, loaded, and moved efficiently and safely following Department of Transportation regulations. The Yard Driver embodies the face of the company to internal and external stakeholders by maintaining professional communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues, helping build lasting, trust-based relationships.
