Job Description
Hub Group Final Mile is a reputable logistics and transportation company specializing in last-mile delivery solutions across the United States. Known for its commitment to efficient and reliable delivery services, Hub Group Final Mile operates within the broader logistics industry offering tailored delivery and installation services. The company prides itself on its dedication to customer satisfaction and providing opportunities for independent contractors to grow their business while delivering top-notch services.
This role is specifically for non-CDL independent contractors in Visalia, CA, who are equipped to handle appliance delivery and basic installation services. Contractors must own, rent, or lease a 26-foot box truck with a liftgate and ideally provide their own driver helper. The employment type for this position is independent contracting, offering great flexibility and the opportunity to operate as small business owners under the Hub Group Final Mile umbrella. Gross pay can reach up to $3,750 per week per truck, providing a lucrative income opportunity for driven contractors.
The position entails managing appliance delivery routes, including the transportation and basic hookup of appliances such as refrigerators, microwave ovens, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and other home appliances. Contractors will be responsible for timely and accurate delivery coupled with professional installation to ensure customer satisfaction. The role demands a strong understanding of using basic tools to assemble, adjust, and install various appliances according to manufacturer specifications.
Contractors are expected to have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record, active MC Operating Authority and DOT number (or willingness to obtain them), and a personal set of tools necessary for installations. The ability to follow detailed and sometimes complex installation instructions is essential. This position also requires providing a two-person delivery team to handle the safe maneuvering and installation of heavy appliances reliably.
Compensation is paid weekly via direct deposit, and contractors have access to online settlements for easy and transparent payment tracking. This role is ideal for experienced appliance installers or those willing to learn the trade and grow their contracting business with a strong, established company. Local deliveries mean contractors can expect to be home daily, helping to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Overall, this role combines the benefits of independent entrepreneurship with the support and established logistics network of Hub Group Final Mile, presenting an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to build or expand their contracting business in the appliance delivery and installation sector.
