Job Description

US Foods is a leading foodservice distributor in the United States, dedicated to delivering high-quality food products and related services to restaurants, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and hospitality sectors across the nation. With a rich history of innovation and a commitment to excellence, US Foods provides robust support to its customers through an extensive supply chain and various value-added offerings. The company prides itself on its customer-centric approach, efficient logistics network, and opportunities for employee growth within a dynamic and supportive work environment.

The US Foods Van Driver role is a pivotal position responsible for the safe and timely delivery of foodservice products using company vehicles. This non-CDL driver position involves operating vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) up to 14,900 pounds and adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Drivers play a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction by ensuring products are delivered intact, on time, and handled in accordance with food safety standards. The position generally works Monday through Friday with rotating Saturdays, typically starting mid-day, and offers a competitive hourly rate starting from $22.78 to $23.44, depending on experience and qualifications.

Van Drivers at US Foods undertake multiple delivery stops each day, managing the accurate loading and unloading of vehicles, transporting products carefully to customers, and managing paperwork including invoices, delivery confirmations, and returns documentation. The role also involves using technology such as hand scanners for tracking deliveries and requires strong customer service skills to handle any delivery-related issues effectively. The position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift significant weight, climb stairs while carrying products, and operate hand trucks safely. Drivers must perform daily vehicle inspections and adhere to safe driving practices to ensure compliance and safety on the road.

This opportunity at US Foods is well-suited for individuals who are self-motivated, dependable, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail and interpersonal skills. While commercial driving experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, as US Foods provides comprehensive training to prepare drivers for success. The role offers stability and growth potential within a reputable company known for its commitment to employee well-being and competitive benefit packages, including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more.

Ultimately, joining US Foods as a Van Driver means becoming part of a respected national organization dedicated to improving the foodservice industry through reliable delivery services and exceptional customer care. This position not only provides a steady income and benefits but allows employees to contribute meaningfully to the efficient distribution of essential food products that keep businesses running smoothly. If you are a responsible individual with a commitment to safety and quality service, US Foods invites you to apply and build a fulfilling career in this essential role.
