Job Description

This hiring establishment is a well-established logistics and delivery company dedicated to providing efficient and reliable multi-stop delivery services. The company operates within the transportation sector, specializing in the timely and safe delivery of products, with a strong emphasis on customer service and safety compliance. The team consists of transportation associates, maintenance personnel, and other supporting roles, all contributing to a seamless delivery operation. The company values diversity and inclusivity, being an Equal Opportunity Employer without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.

This particular role is that of a Delivery Driver, a crucial position within the company’s supply chain operation. The role involves a combination of physical work, customer interaction, and driving duties. The Delivery Driver is responsible for loading, transporting, and unloading products at multiple customer stops per shift, ensuring that all deliveries are completed according to the assigned schedule and in compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Compensation for this role is competitive, with an expected hourly wage of $22.34, including eligibility for overtime pay. This position offers benefits which become effective on the first of the month following 90 days of employment. This position’s schedule varies, with shifts starting at either 6 am or 1 pm.

The role demands physical stamina as it includes lifting heavy products regularly, sometimes up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and occasionally up to 100 pounds, plus navigating stairs while carrying products using a hand truck. The Delivery Driver will thoroughly document each delivery using a hand scanner and company paperwork, handle any return product documentation properly, and collect payments if necessary. The driver must also maintain accurate records, follow safe food handling procedures when transporting perishable goods, and conduct regular pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, monitoring fluid levels, tire condition, windshield washing, and fueling needs.

The position requires a high level of responsibility, professionalism, and excellence in customer service to handle delivery-related issues by communicating effectively with the relevant supervisors or customer service representatives. Drivers must strictly adhere to safe driving standards, including defensive driving techniques, and comply with company policies regarding driving history and behavior standards. The work environment is mostly outdoors and physically demanding, requiring the driver to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and exert physical effort in various capacities consistently. The role also demands availability for working weekends, holidays, and overtime to meet customer needs.

To qualify for the position, candidates must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid U.S. driver’s license with proper endorsements, have a clean driving record with no serious traffic or DUI violations in the recent past, and pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam. Prior experience in multi-stop delivery, preferably with foodservice industry experience or hand cart delivery, is required. Candidates should be proficient in basic math, reading, writing, and verbal communication in English related to job safety and regulatory compliance. The company values qualities such as adaptability, effective communication, trust-building, and the ability to manage workloads efficiently.

Joining this company as a Delivery Driver offers a stable and rewarding career path for individuals who thrive in physically active roles, enjoy driving, delivering excellent customer service, and value working in a team-oriented environment with clear opportunities to contribute to business success and customer satisfaction.
