Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license with proper endorsements if required
- No more than two traffic violations in the past two years
- No DUI convictions in the past three years
- No driver’s license suspensions in the past three years
- Must pass DOT physical
- One year multi-stop delivery experience or six months local delivery or foodservice experience
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Basic math skills
- Must pass pre-employment testing including background check
- Knowledge of local area and map reading
- Use of safe lifting and loading techniques
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Valid U.S. driver’s license issued by the state of legal residence with proper endorsements if required
- No more than two convictions in the past two-year period for traffic violations
- No DUI convictions in the past three years
- No driver’s license suspensions in the past three years
- Passed DOT physical
- One year multi-stop delivery experience or 6 months local delivery and/or foodservice industry experience
- Able to read, write and communicate in English related to the job and safety regulations
- Basic math skills
- Passed pre-employment testing including background check
- Knowledge of area and/or map reading abilities
- Use safe lifting and loading techniques
- Great interpersonal and customer service skills
- Availability to work weekends, holidays and overtime
- Demonstrated competencies in building customer loyalty, managing work, adaptability, building trust, follow-up, communication, and defensive driving techniques
Job Duties
- Lift up to 50 lbs on a frequent basis and up to 100 lbs on an occasional basis
- Load and unload the vehicle for multi-stop deliveries
- Transport deliveries by driving assigned vehicles
- Use hand truck to move product from the delivery vehicle into the customer location including going up and down stairs with product as necessary
- Accurately record delivery information including operating a hand scanner and all company required documentation
- Responsible for the proper documentation and disposition for any return product
- Communicate delivery-customer issues to proper authority
- Deliver product to each of the designated stops following the stop sequence provided for the day
- Unload product safely and stage product in the space(s) designated by customer
- Check invoice for complete delivery and process paperwork and damaged merchandise if any
- Collect payments if necessary
- Monitor refrigeration system on the delivery vehicle consistently for safety and follow all safe food handling procedures
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections including monitoring fluid levels, tire conditions, windshield wash, and replenishing fuel
- Other duties as assigned
