Currently, EquipmentShare is hiring a Delivery Driver (Non CDL) to join their rental facility in Port Arthur, TX. This role is vital in ensuring that customers receive their equipment, products, and materials efficiently and safely. The position offers a schedule from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay available beyond 40 hours worked and on-call scheduling with additional compensation. Delivery drivers at EquipmentShare play an essential role beyond just transport; they are integral to delivering innovation through the use of advanced technology that provides real-time information on fleet locations, work orders, and delivery details.
The Delivery Driver is responsible for operating vehicles according to state and federal transportation laws while maintaining the highest safety standards. They manage loading and unloading goods, documentation such as invoices and bills of lading, and support routine vehicle maintenance. The role demands a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with customers and staff, reflecting the company’s commitment to exceptional service. Job Requirements
- Must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and state department(s) of transportation regulations
- Must pass DOT physical as trucks driven are over 10,000 pounds
- Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds at a time
- Must be able to travel frequently
- CDL drivers may be required to be clean shaven to deliver to certain customers
- This is a safety sensitive position and employment contingent on passing a 10 panel drug screen
Job Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff
- Ability to remain focused in a busy environment
Job Duties
- Operate vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws
- Transport loads safely and in a timely manner over required route
- Obey all traffic laws and observe all safety regulations
- Maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas per loading crew signals
- Assist with loading, unloading goods and materials using specialized equipment when warranted
- Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork
- Deliver documentation to shipping office or appropriate staff after delivery route completion
- Facilitate routine service on trucks including checking oil, water, gasoline, and air
- Report maintenance malfunctions to Shipping Supervisor
- Arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns
- Perform other related duties as assigned
