The Night Manager position at Buc-ee's plays a critical role in maintaining the store's high standards for cleanliness, customer service, and product availability. This role requires an individual who is capable of managing store personnel effectively, ensuring that every customer experiences a clean, friendly, and well-stocked environment. The Night Manager is responsible for stepping in as the General Manager when necessary, demonstrating leadership and decision-making skills. The position pays $31.00 per hour and includes a comprehensive benefits package featuring medical, dental, vision coverage, three weeks of paid time off, and a 401k plan with a 100% match up to 6%.

The Night Manager must possess strong knowledge of point of sale systems and transactional devices to efficiently reconcile shift reports and oversee store operations. Exceptional customer service skills are essential, as the role involves resolving customer issues professionally and fostering positive communication among staff. This position demands the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, manage safety regulations meticulously, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws related to retail sales and employment.

Physically, the role involves prolonged periods of walking or standing for 8 to 12 hours, frequent bending, stooping, climbing, crouching, reaching, balancing, pushing, pulling (like managing a cart loaded with 50 or more 20-pound bags of ice), and lifting items weighing 40 pounds or more. Candidates must demonstrate the stamina and resilience to handle these demands while maintaining the store's operational efficiency during busy shifts.

This role requires a flexible work schedule, including the ability to work rotating shifts that alternate between day and night, especially on the store’s busiest days. Punctuality, attendance, and the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations are also key aspects of this position. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work rotating schedules including nights and weekends
  • Capacity to stand or walk for 8 to 12 continuous hours

Job Duties

  • Perform duties and responsibilities of the General Manager in their absence or upon their discretion
  • Illustrate competent knowledge of various Point Of Sale and transactional devices
  • Reconcile multiple shift reports

  • Assign and inspect elements listed on shift duty list
  • Communicate professionally with the Store General Manager and employees
