Job Description
The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a nationwide voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer and its impact. With a network of 1.3 million volunteers alongside its professional staff, ACS is deeply committed to its lifesaving mission. The organization focuses on research, education, advocacy, and patient support services to reduce cancer incidence, deliver better treatments, and improve patient outcomes. As a culturally diverse employer, ACS values the distinct perspectives and experiences of its employees to better serve the communities affected by cancer. ACS is more than just a charity; it is a movement towards ending cancer as we know it.
The role of the Night Lead is a critical overnight position within ACS's lodge operations. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of guests during the overnight hours in a supportive environment. The Night Lead oversees and manages all lodge activities from midnight to 8:00 a.m., including security patrols and emergency response coordination, ensuring the facility is prepared for the next day’s arrivals. This position requires attention to detail and proficiency in maintaining nightly reports, reconciling check-in data, and managing room inventory. Additionally, the Night Lead handles housekeeping tasks such as laundering linens and resetting common areas. Working independently for most of the shift, the Night Lead must be able to respond calmly and efficiently to any emergencies that arise while maintaining a hospitable atmosphere for guests. The salary for this bi-weekly weekend overnight role starts at $26.73 per hour, offering a fair compensation for the responsibility and skill involved. This position is well-suited to individuals with experience in hospitality, security, or healthcare fields, especially those familiar with overnight operations and night auditing processes. ACS provides a generous benefits package including paid time off, medical and dental insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and professional development opportunities, reflecting its commitment to the well-being and growth of its employees. Working at ACS means contributing to an organization that impacts millions of lives and embodies a sense of pride and fulfillment from making a difference in the fight against cancer.
