Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in related role required
  • Knowledge of food preparation principles and food safety regulations
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills required
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to work 28 days offshore with 28 days off rotational schedule
  • Must possess Merchant Mariner's Book/Credential
  • Must have US Coast Guard Medical Certificate
  • Must have STCW
  • Must have TWIC card
  • Must have Real ID or passport
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, walk and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to obtain additional certifications after hire

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work a rotational schedule of 28 days offshore with 28 days off
  • Possession of Merchant Mariner's Book/Credential
  • Valid US Coast Guard Medical Certificate
  • STCW certification
  • TWIC card
  • Possession of Real ID or passport
  • Willingness to obtain T-HUET, Rig Pass/Safe Gulf, Food Handler's Certification, and VPDSD after hire

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Bakes cakes, cookies, and other baked goods
  • Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling
  • Safely uses utensils including knives
  • Operates kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses various cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
  • Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to guidelines
  • Properly stores food following food safety policies
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor
  • Adheres to safety policies including food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets
