Job Requirements
- Experience as a cook or in related role required
- Knowledge of food preparation principles and food safety regulations
- Ability to acquire food safety certification
- Basic math and counting skills required
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Must be able to work 28 days offshore with 28 days off rotational schedule
- Must possess Merchant Mariner's Book/Credential
- Must have US Coast Guard Medical Certificate
- Must have STCW
- Must have TWIC card
- Must have Real ID or passport
- Physical ability to lift, bend, push, pull, walk and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to wear uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ability to obtain additional certifications after hire
Job Qualifications
- Experience as a cook or in a related role
- Knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations
- Ability to acquire food safety certification
- Basic math and counting skills
- Effective interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to work a rotational schedule of 28 days offshore with 28 days off
- Possession of Merchant Mariner's Book/Credential
- Valid US Coast Guard Medical Certificate
- STCW certification
- TWIC card
- Possession of Real ID or passport
- Willingness to obtain T-HUET, Rig Pass/Safe Gulf, Food Handler's Certification, and VPDSD after hire
Job Duties
- Cooks and prepares food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Bakes cakes, cookies, and other baked goods
- Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling
- Safely uses utensils including knives
- Operates kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
- Bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and uses various cooking methods on meat, vegetables, and other foods
- Arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to guidelines
- Properly stores food following food safety policies
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor
- Adheres to safety policies including food safety and sanitation
- Ensures security of company assets
