Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience with cooking and grilling including knife skills preferred
- Ability to work full-time schedule including varied days and some weekends
- Capacity to maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen
- Ability to follow safety and food handling procedures
- Strong organizational skills
- Availability to work at Novo Nordisk Bloomington, IN location
Job Qualifications
- Previous cooking and grilling experience preferred
- Proficiency with knife skills
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and food preparation instructions
- Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
- Ability to work varied shifts including weekends
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Good communication skills
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
Job Duties
- Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules
- Serves meals and prepares for delivery using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, and ensuring food is at the correct temperature and arranged nicely
- Uses established ticket collection procedures during service and maintains records from area worked during service periods
- Cleans kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Stores or discards excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
- Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat and ensures food and supply items are stored per standards
- Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
- Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required
- Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to the supervisor immediately
- Performs other duties as assigned
