Job Description

Daly Seven is a well-established hospitality company known for providing comfortable, affordable, and high-quality accommodations to travelers. As a reputable hotel chain, Daly Seven has earned a solid reputation for excellent customer service, cleanliness, and convenience. With properties located in strategic areas, Daly Seven caters to both business and leisure travelers, offering them a welcoming environment, a variety of amenities, and attentive staff to ensure an enjoyable stay. The hotels typically feature essential services such as continental breakfast, clean and secure rooms, and a friendly atmosphere, making Daly Seven a preferred choice for many guests. The company emphasizes maintaining a professional and courteous staff team that upholds the highest standards of hospitality and service excellence.

The Night Auditor role at Daly Seven is a critical overnight position responsible for overseeing the front desk operations while ensuring the accuracy of the hotel's financial records. This position requires a detail-oriented, trustworthy, and responsible individual who can manage multiple tasks during quiet nighttime hours. The Night Auditor is expected to arrive ten minutes before the shift change to ensure a smooth handover from the guest service agent. Responsibilities include reconciling cash drops, auditing daily financial transactions, and assisting guests as needed. This position is essential to maintaining the integrity and smooth operation of the hotel's overnight front desk services.

A typical day for the Night Auditor begins by verifying and counting the money drop from the prior shift and ensuring all money is securely deposited in the locked drop box. This process involves strict documentation and communication to report any discrepancies immediately to the management. Following this initial handover, the Night Auditor conducts routine duties such as verifying the day’s work on the computer system, correcting any errors in transactions, and completing the audit process according to established guidelines.

In addition to the financial responsibilities, the Night Auditor performs hospitality functions including setting up the continental breakfast area, cleaning the lobby to maintain a neat and welcoming environment, and managing reservations by entering them into the computer system. This role also involves ensuring safety preparedness by knowing the locations of emergency equipment, master keys, and utilities controls, so the Night Auditor can respond effectively to any guest issues or emergencies during the shift.

The Night Auditor position at Daly Seven offers a unique overnight work experience that combines financial oversight with guest service responsibilities. It requires strong organizational skills, numerical accuracy, and excellent communication skills to provide a high standard of service. As part of the company’s ongoing training program, new Night Auditors undergo a two-week training period where they work alongside seasoned staff before transitioning to working independently. Throughout the 120-day probationary period, continuous support from management ensures that new hires can build competence and confidence in their role.

Candidates for the Night Auditor position should have a commitment to the hospitality industry and a willingness to learn and grow within the company. The role is vital to upholding Daly Seven’s reputation as a reliable and guest-focused hotel chain. Employees are expected to adhere to all company policies, maintain meticulous records, and exhibit excellent customer service etiquette. The company offers a dynamic and supportive working environment with opportunities for career progression within the hospitality sector. Working night shifts may involve less direct guest interaction compared to daytime roles but is crucial for the overall success and functioning of the hotel operations.
