Job Description

Fairfield by Marriott is a trusted name in the hospitality industry, known for providing guests with a beautifully simple but exceptional stay experience. With more than 1,000 locations worldwide, Fairfield by Marriott has established itself as a reliable hotel brand under the larger Marriott International family. Marriott International is a leading global hospitality company dedicated to delivering outstanding service and comfort to guests while fostering a welcoming and inclusive workplace for its employees. The core of Fairfield’s hospitality approach is inspired by the Marriott family farm heritage, aiming to create a calming environment characterized by warm and genuine hospitality at a great value.

This particular position, located at 1460 S Harbor Blvd, Anaheim, California, is a full-time, non-management role in the Finance & Accounting category. The role is crucial to the hotel's daily financial and guest service operations, ensuring a smooth and efficient process of end-of-day activities, guest check-ins, and transactions. The position offers pay of $29.50 per hour and emphasizes both guest interaction and careful handling of financial data. The responsibilities include processing payments, posting charges to guest accounts, performing night audit backup procedures, and balancing daily receipts according to accounting standards. Maintaining the hotel’s operational workflow and ensuring guest satisfaction are central to the role.

The incumbent will engage in tasks such as selling rooms to walk-in guests based on availability, printing contingency lists for emergency preparedness, handling wake-up call requests, and managing the electronic key system for guest rooms. Attention to detail is vital, especially when counting and securing the bank at shift end, balancing transactions, and producing the Room Rate Variance Report. The role also entails maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of work areas and equipment.

Beyond the technical and operational duties, the role requires excellent interpersonal skills as the staff member will be the first point of contact for guests. A welcoming attitude, clear and professional communication, and the ability to anticipate and respond to guests’ needs are essential. The position involves reporting any accidents or unsafe conditions promptly, adhering strictly to company policies, maintaining confidentiality, and protecting company assets.

Physically, the role demands the ability to move, lift, and carry objects up to 25 pounds unassisted, and to engage in sustained physical activity such as standing or walking for extended periods. Compliance with quality assurance standards and contributing positively to a collaborative team environment are also important aspects.

Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or GED equivalent, less than one year of related work experience, no supervisory experience required, and no specific licenses or certifications necessary. Marriott International values diversity and inclusion in its hiring process and provides equal employment opportunities without discrimination. This role offers candidates the chance to become part of an internationally recognized hospitality brand where they can grow professionally and personally, embracing a company culture that respects and celebrates diversity and individual contributions.
