Job Description
Marriott International, a global leader in the hospitality industry, is renowned for its commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences across its diverse portfolio of brands. One such brand, Courtyard by Marriott, is designed specifically with business travelers in mind, offering innovative services and a welcoming environment that makes every stay productive and enjoyable. Located in Hacienda Heights, California, our Courtyard property stands as a beacon of quality and service excellence in the region, catering to travelers seeking both comfort and efficiency. As part of the Marriott family, we embrace a culture that values diversity, inclusivity, and continuous improvement, providing our associates with opportunities to grow personally and professionally within a supportive global network.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our team on a part-time basis at the Courtyard by Marriott in Hacienda Heights. This role is critical in maintaining the financial integrity and smooth operation of our hotel during nighttime hours. The Night Auditor acts as the vital link between the front desk, accounting, and guest services, ensuring all end-of-day financial activities are accurately completed, balances are maintained, and that guests receive excellent service throughout the night.
As a Night Auditor, you will be responsible for conducting end-of-day procedures including posting charges to guest accounts, running nightly audit backups, and rolling the date to ensure seamless daily transitions. Your role will encompass processing various payment methods such as cash, checks, debit, and credit cards, as well as managing adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, correction vouchers, and miscellaneous charges to guarantee all transactions are precisely recorded. Maintaining emergency preparedness by printing contingency lists and handling room sales for walk-in guests based on availability will also fall within your duties.
In addition to financial tasks, you will operate the telephone switchboard, coordinate wake-up calls, and communicate guest messages promptly and professionally. Accurate completion of the Room Rate Variance Report is essential to monitor rate discrepancies and maintain pricing integrity. You will be the first point of contact for guest check-ins during your shift, assigning rooms and activating electronic key cards while ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adhere strictly to company policies concerning confidentiality, uniform standards, and asset protection. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and perform light lifting and movement of items weighing up to 25 pounds.
This position offers a competitive hourly pay of $24.50 and provides an excellent opportunity for individuals with less than one year of related experience to grow within the hospitality industry. Marriott International prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer, fostering a diverse work environment that celebrates the unique backgrounds and talents of all associates. Join us to be part of a passionate team dedicated to exceptional service and continuous learning in a workplace where you can truly belong and thrive.
