Job Description

HHM Hotels is a respected hospitality company known for its commitment to excellence, guest satisfaction, and employee growth. Operating within the dynamic and fast-paced hotel industry, HHM Hotels prides itself on delivering exceptional guest services and cultivating rewarding career opportunities for its staff. With a focus on quality, professionalism, and continuous improvement, HHM Hotels offers a welcoming and inclusive work environment where individuals can thrive and build long-term careers. Managed by HHM Hotels, the company maintains values centered around people, service, and excellence, emphasizing nimbleness and ownership in all roles.

The Night Auditor role at HHM Hotels is a crucial position that bridges guest service operations with financial accuracy. This role involves balancing revenue, settling accounts nightly, maintaining files, and resetting the hotel system for the subsequent day. Night Auditors also perform essential Guest Service Agent tasks, which means this role combines operational auditing with direct guest interaction. Working the night shift, a Night Auditor ensures the financial integrity of daily transactions while upholding the highest standards of guest satisfaction. This position offers a growth path leading to roles such as Front Office Supervisor, Accounts Payable or Receivable Clerk, and eventually Front Office Manager, making it ideal for individuals seeking to advance within the hospitality industry.

The core responsibilities include auditing and reconciling revenue streams such as cashiers and credit cards, preparing and distributing daily reports, maintaining accurate records of room availability and guest accounts, and inputting financial information into the BRAINS network. Additionally, Night Auditors are responsible for checking guests in and out, responding to guest inquiries, resolving complaints, and proactively working to enhance departmental and overall guest satisfaction scores. Safety is also a priority, with expectations to practice safe work habits and wear appropriate protective equipment.

This role requires a strong background in bookkeeping and accounting principles, paired with excellent computer skills, particularly in Excel and arithmetic. While a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, experience or equivalent training in night audit or accounting is mandatory. Completion of the Food Safety Director (FSD) training within 90 days is also a requirement, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. The position may require standing for extended periods, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, bending, and reaching, reflecting the physical demands associated with hospitality operations. Work schedules are variable and may include holidays and weekends, offering flexibility within the operational needs of the hotel.

HHM Hotels provides a comprehensive package of benefits that support employees’ health, financial security, and work-life balance. Benefits include competitive wages for both full-time and part-time positions, medical, dental, and vision health insurance, paid time off, and a 401k company match program. They also offer daily pay options, free basic life insurance, 24/7 access to TELUS Health as a confidential work-life resource, travel discounts, commuter transit and parking benefits, an employee assistance and wellness program, educational and professional development opportunities, and a referral bonus program. These benefits underscore HHM Hotels' commitment to creating a supportive and rewarding workplace for its team members.

Overall, the Night Auditor position at HHM Hotels is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and eager to develop their careers in hospitality. By joining HHM Hotels, candidates become part of a company that values people, pursues excellence relentlessly, and fosters a culture of ownership and agility in delivering unparalleled guest experiences.
