Located just two blocks from the renowned Worth Avenue, The Vineta Hotel is perfectly positioned in an area celebrated for its vibrant restaurant scene, designer boutiques, and art galleries. This historic landmark has become the first hotel in the United States to join the prestigious Oetker Hotels portfolio, marking a bold new chapter in its century-old legacy. With world-class cuisine and unparalleled service, The Vineta Hotel aims to become the pinnacle of hospitality in the region.The Night Auditor plays a critical role within The Vineta Hotel’s overnight operations team, ensuring a seamless and secure guest experience throughout the night. This position is hourly and functions as the primary on-site hotel representative during overnight hours, responsible for front desk management and performing detailed nightly audit procedures. The Night Auditor is pivotal to maintaining the hotel’s luxury service standards and compliance with Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) expectations. Key responsibilities include managing late check-ins and early check-outs, resolving guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism, and coordinating with various departments such as housekeeping, security, maintenance, and room service. Additionally, the Night Auditor conducts nightly audits by reconciling daily financial transactions and balancing front desk systems to guarantee accurate end-of-day processing. This role requires close attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to respond calmly to emergencies, such as medical incidents or fire alarms, enhancing both guest safety and satisfaction. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • College degree in Accounting, Hospitality, or Business preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in hotel front office, accounting, or night audit roles
  • Experience with Opera Cloud, Unifocus or similar hotel property management systems preferred
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and guest service abilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reconciliation processes
  • Able to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking, sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to reach, bend, balance and transport various objects weighing up to 15 lbs
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for guests during overnight hours, providing courteous, professional, and personalized service
  • Handle guest requests, concerns, and complaints with discretion, efficiency, and a solutions-oriented approach
  • Complete late check-ins, early check-outs, and VIP arrivals, ensuring guest preferences and special requests are met
  • Ensure a smooth overnight guest experience by proactively identifying and resolving service issues
  • Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and coordinate guest needs across departments as required
  • Monitor front desk, lobby, and public areas to ensure cleanliness, comfort, and adherence to hotel standards
  • Coordinate overnight activity with housekeeping, security, maintenance, and room service teams as needed
  • Communicate effectively with department leaders regarding overnight incidents, guest issues, or operational concerns
  • Maintain awareness of hotel occupancy, room status, and special arrivals or departures
  • Monitor hotel security systems and perform routine overnight property checks
  • Respond calmly and professionally to emergency situations, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and guest disturbances
  • Follow all safety, security, and emergency protocols and promptly report incidents according to hotel procedures
  • Work closely with on-duty security personnel to ensure a safe environment for guests and employees
  • Perform nightly audit procedures, including reconciling daily transactions and balancing the front desk system
  • Ensure accurate end-of-day processing, billing, and revenue reconciliation
  • Prepare and distribute nightly audit reports for management and accounting teams
  • Follow proper cash-handling procedures and comply with all financial and internal control policies
