Job Description

SpringHill Suites by Marriott, located in the University Research Park area of Charlotte, is part of the renowned Marriott International brand, known globally for its commitment to quality hospitality and exceptional guest experiences. As a mid-priced, all-suite hotel brand, SpringHill Suites offers modern, spacious accommodations and thoughtful amenities geared primarily towards business travelers and families seeking comfort and convenience. The hotel benefits from being situated in a bustling business hub, attracting a diverse clientele ranging from corporate guests to tourists, making it a dynamic place to work. Marriott International is dedicated to fostering a positive work environment that values teamwork, diversity, and professional growth. Their commitment to employee welfare is evident in benefits such as daily pay options, allowing team members to access up to 50 percent of their earned wages after every shift. This financial flexibility is an attractive feature for employees needing more control over their earnings and cash flow.

The role of the part-time Night Auditor at SpringHill Suites by Marriott is critical in maintaining the financial integrity and customer service quality during the overnight shift. Scheduled for weekends from 11 pm to 7 am, the Night Auditor acts as the overnight Manager-on-Duty (MOD), ensuring seamless hotel operations in the absence of the daytime management team. This position demands a person who is detail-oriented, trustworthy, and proficient in auditing daily financial transactions across various departments. The Night Auditor's primary responsibility is to accurately compute the hotel’s daily income by verifying all customer accounts are correct and balanced by the following morning. This includes auditing room revenues, food and beverage income postings, and city ledger work. The role also involves running the nightly processing cycle on the hotel's computer systems to reset functions for the next day, a critical step in daily financial reconciliations.

In addition to financial duties, the Night Auditor is the first point of contact for overnight guests, ensuring exceptional customer service and addressing any issues promptly and courteously. They must maintain a high level of communication with their immediate supervisor and hotel staff to report any anomalies or significant concerns. Other important duties include reviewing credit card vouchers for accuracy and authorization, performing night clerk duties as a Guest Service Representative, and fostering a cooperative and harmonious working environment among all employees.

Candidates for this position should possess strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel, and familiarity with hotel reservation systems such as FOSSE or OnQ is an advantage. The ability to work flexible hours and handle last-minute scheduling changes is essential. With a minimum of one to two years of hotel night auditing experience preferred, this role offers a unique opportunity to develop a robust understanding of hotel operations and financial procedures while contributing to a reputable hospitality brand. The job setting is predominantly indoors with physical demands including the need to maneuver quickly through hotel premises and use standard office equipment efficiently. Fluency in English is required, along with strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with both team members and guests.

The SpringHill Suites by Marriott emphasizes equal employment opportunities and aims to create an inclusive workplace free from discrimination of any kind. This role not only supports the hotel’s operational excellence but also plays a vital part in enhancing guest satisfaction and overall business success. With its excellent reputation, supportive management, and attractive pay structure including the possibility of daily pay, this part-time Night Auditor position represents a valuable career opportunity within the hospitality industry.
