Job Description

The hiring establishment is a full-service hotel that emphasizes exceptional guest service and operational excellence. This hotel is dedicated to providing a warm and efficient front office experience while seamlessly coordinating with back office operations and various hotel departments such as housekeeping, food and beverage, accounting, engineering, and security. The hotel prides itself on maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for guests, visitors, and external partners like limousine services and tour company representatives. Employees play a pivotal role in representing the hotel’s brand values during every guest interaction and operational procedure.

The role being offered is for a Front Office Receptionist who will be stationed at the heart of guest reception and inquiry handling areas, including both front and back office spaces as well as the hotel's accounting and computer rooms. This position requires courteous and efficient management of guest check-ins and check-outs, processing payments strictly according to hotel policies, and providing accurate information to guests and visitors promptly. The receptionist is expected to compile timely and precise reports, maintain hotel computer systems as per operational standards, and collaborate closely with various departments and management to ensure smooth hotel operations. This is a demanding role that requires attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure, particularly during busy arrival and departure periods.

Reporting directly to the Front Office Manager, Assistant Manager, Controller, and Operations Manager, the Front Office Receptionist serves as a critical link between guests and the hotel’s operational staff. They are also responsible for managing guest histories, handling VIP arrivals, resolving complaints diplomatically, and ensuring compliance with hotel policies regarding room assignments, security, and privacy. The receptionist actively supports the entire front office team by reviewing daily assignments, managing cash banks securely, and maintaining transaction accuracy. They must be proficient in using the hotel’s computer systems to register guests, manage reservations, monitor room availability, and generate essential reports such as audit and flash revenue reports.

Candidates will have a high school diploma at minimum, with preferred qualifications including some college education or training related to hospitality, previous front office or cashiering experience, and computer literacy. Fluency in foreign languages such as Spanish, French, or Japanese is an advantage. The job requires strong mathematical skills, clear and pleasant communication in English, and the ability to handle confidential and security-sensitive information professionally.

In addition to the core reception duties, the role involves contributing to other front office operations including assisting with switchboard functions, reservations follow-up, concierge services when necessary, and facilitating guest room tours. The ability to coordinate effectively with diverse internal teams and external service providers is vital to this position. Overall, this role is central to creating a memorable guest experience that aligns with the hotel’s high service standards and operational procedures, making it an ideal opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and guest relations.
