Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in hospitality industry preferred
  • experience in front desk or customer service role preferred
  • accounting experience preferred
  • ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace
  • good communication skills verbal, written and electronic
  • basic computer skills
  • basic computational ability
  • ability to stand and walk for up to four hours
  • ability to lift up to 45 lbs
  • ability to push and pull carts up to 250 lbs
  • ability to perform repetitive motions and physical activities including bending, stooping, squatting, and stretching
  • ability to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, fax machines, and phones
  • maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in the hospitality industry preferred
  • experience in front desk or customer service roles preferred
  • accounting experience preferred
  • excellent communication skills
  • basic computer skills including Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, PBX, key systems, and POS knowledge
  • strong leadership and customer relations skills
  • detail oriented with outstanding organizational skills
  • ability to handle multiple tasks and resolve conflicts with tact and diplomacy
  • self-driven and able to work independently
  • good mathematical and analytical skills

Job Duties

  • Act as the Manager on Duty during nighttime hours
  • greet and welcome guests upon arrival
  • perform guest registration and checkout procedures
  • accept payments for guest accounts at registration and checkout
  • maintain a house bank and prepare daily deposit and receipts reports
  • cash checks and exchange currency for guests
  • accurately handle cash transactions and balance cash drawer
  • acknowledge rewards members and returning guests
  • manage guest bookings and upsell opportunities
  • handle cash and credit transactions
  • respond courteously and professionally to guest inquiries and requests
  • perform daily audit procedures as set by the hotel
  • complete daily, comp, pace, and other reporting
  • balance cash receipts and deposits
  • prepare front office for morning shift and reset daily business
  • maintain nightly reports for day management
  • act as PBX operator during audit shift
  • transmit and receive messages via telephone, fax, and switchboard
  • ensure timely wake-up calls using guest names
  • assist and direct guests and emergency personnel in emergencies
  • post charges for room, food, liquor, and telephone
  • make restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations
  • review arrival reports and special requests
  • attend all scheduled training and meetings
  • stay informed on special promotions, VIPs, groups, conferences, and activities
  • practice safe work habits
  • ensure privacy, security, and company procedures are followed
  • answer inquiries about hotel policies, services, and local attractions
  • maintain extensive knowledge of the hotel and city
  • maintain lobby cleanliness and organization
  • assist with mail, packages, facsimiles, and guest items
  • perform other duties as assigned by managers or supervisors
