Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing or walking for 6-8 hours during an 8-hour shift
  • Use of hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, and reach frequently
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and cold environments
  • Ability to handle knives and other cutting equipment
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery

Job Qualifications

  • No prior retail experience required
  • Ability to sell proactively
  • Ability to learn basic knowledge of all products carried in the department
  • Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness
  • Proactively read labels and familiarize oneself on various products
  • Assist with periodic inventory checks
  • Ability to deliver information in a clear and respectable manner to fellow team members, customers, and vendors
  • Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures
  • Effective time management and organization skills

Job Duties

  • Ensure a fresh and appealing display by checking quality, keeping cases and shelves clean and well stocked, rotating and removing out-of-date products, filling ice tables, and performing other assigned duties
  • Maintain back stock in good order
  • Assist with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean and appealing
  • Clean cases, glass, signs, uprights, coolers, smokers, floors, and drains as required
  • Arrive at work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Provide excellent customer service, address needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and model suggestive selling techniques
  • Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising products
  • Follow and ensure compliance with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment and maintain equipment according to cleanliness and safety standards
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • ensure accuracy of signs and pricing
  • Immediately report safety hazards and violations
  • Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
