This specific role, Network Administrator, Journeyman, is based at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah, and supports HX5's Aerospace Dominance Enabler Division. The position is full-time onsite, requiring 40 hours per week with a flexible work schedule from Monday through Friday during core business hours. The Network Administrator will be essential in managing and maintaining the information technology infrastructure critical to support government operations and missions. The role demands expertise in designing, developing, testing, and evaluating IT software systems, particularly in networking and security domains.
The incumbent will be responsible for a variety of tasks, from assisting in the development of web-based information technology management portals and other government software applications to administering Virtual Machine Ware server solutions, including high availability configurations. A crucial aspect of the job includes help desk management, addressing technology network issues, managing IT trouble tickets, and supporting customer access to various Continuous Acquisition and Life-Cycle Support applications. Additionally, the Network Administrator will assist with communications cabling installation and help develop documentation vital for certifying both classified and unclassified network systems under DoD’s information assurance standards such as DIACAP or RMF.
Knowledge of security risk assessment in the context of new computer systems and commercial software designs is essential. The role requires the ability to resolve integration challenges related to new system implementations and to provide guidance to government decision-makers on security shortcomings and improvement areas. Candidates must possess or be able to maintain necessary Department of Defense certifications including DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
This position requires a candidate with a strong background in DoD IT systems, proven technical capabilities, and a commitment to security protocols. Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is mandatory along with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance by the date of hire. Travel, including air travel, may be required, reflecting the role's operational importance within HX5’s contractual obligations to the government. Job Qualifications
- BS degree in information systems technology or computer science
- At least three years of experience with DoD IT systems
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
- Experience with Virtual Machine Ware server administration
- Knowledge of DoD security standards such as DIACAP or RMF
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to produce compliance documentation and manage certification processes
Job Duties
- Design, develop, maintain, test, and evaluate software systems
