Job Description
Our company is a premier provider of guided wine tours in North Carolina, a state known for its rapidly growing wine industry. We specialize in introducing visitors and locals alike to the diverse and rich offerings of North Carolina's wine regions through carefully curated tours. Our guided tours involve small groups visiting three different vineyards, where they are offered tastings of locally grown wines while learning about the history and unique characteristics of the vineyards and the wines produced there. The company's tours focus on the region north of Charlotte, an area recognized for its scenic beauty and thriving wine production.
We are currently seeking enthusiastic and outgoing Wine Guides to join our team in the Charlotte area. This position is perfect for those who have a passion for wine, enjoy interacting with people, and are interested in sharing the story of North Carolina wine culture. Wine Guides play a crucial role in providing an unforgettable experience for guests. They are responsible for safely driving small groups of 10 or fewer clients to several vineyards involved in the tour, ensuring that participants receive a knowledgeable and engaging introduction to the wines and vineyards of the region. Applicants must be available to work 2-4 tours per month, with tours occurring Thursday through Sunday year-round. Each tour will require roughly 160 miles of driving using a 15-seat passenger van, so maintaining a clean driving record is essential.
Our Wine Guides not only drive and escort guests but also educate and entertain them. They share information about the wine varieties, wine-making processes, food pairings, and vineyard histories while managing the flow and schedule of the tour. Keeping guests hydrated and comfortable throughout the wine tastings is also a priority. The position offers on-the-job training with an initial training rate of $15 per hour, followed by a standard compensation of $25 per hour plus tips. This role requires residing in the Charlotte area due to pickup logistics. If you have a flair for hospitality, a love for wines, especially those from North Carolina, and the ability to create engaging and informative experiences for small groups, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to become part of a vibrant and expanding wine tourism industry.
