Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Ability to perform moderate physical effort including moving furniture and operating cleaning equipment
  • No experience required but housekeeping experience including leader or supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to maintain guest security and privacy
  • Ability to interact professionally with guests
  • Availability to work full-time 35 plus hours
  • Ability to handle stressful situations diplomatically
  • Ability to conduct inspections and maintain documentation

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Housekeeping experience preferred
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain security and privacy
  • Experience in training staff
  • Familiarity with property management systems
  • Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
  • Organizational and inventory management skills

Job Duties

  • Ensures security of all guests is maintained at all times
  • Ensures guest privacy is maintained at all times
  • Possess a welcoming manner and positive attitude
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills
  • Interact professionally with guests answering guest questions concerning hotel facilities and local attractions
  • Provide assistance in handling customer complaints involving management as necessary
  • Utilize the Property Management System PMS for daily housekeeping report preparation and scheduling
  • Conduct daily inspections of rooms, housekeeping carts, common areas, laundry facilities and maintain written documentation
  • Conduct training on proper work methods and safety procedures
  • Implement safety fire prevention MSDS and environmental industrial hygiene requirements
  • Coordinate with front desk and maintenance personnel for room readiness
  • Prepare work requests to maintenance department
  • Manage storeroom security and inventory of supplies and equipment
  • Order cleaning supplies, in-room amenities, and other materials as needed
  • Ensure equipment maintenance and proper storage
  • Issue amenities, supplies and linen to housekeepers
  • Perform monthly and quarterly inventories
  • Investigate and prepare reports for staff mishaps and accidents
  • Forward reports to immediate supervisor timely
  • Evaluate staff performance
  • Recommend awards or disciplinary actions
  • Approve or disapprove leave requests timely
  • Interview and recommend applicants for selection or promotion
  • Handle guest and staff suggestions and complaints
  • Resolve problems tactfully and diplomatically
  • Refer difficult situations to management
  • Perform duties of housekeepers, custodial workers, and laundry workers as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
