The position is situated within the Food and Beverage Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department in Navy Region Southwest. Job Requirements

  • The incumbent is required to have the knowledge and skill to mix and serve beverages
  • the incumbent must have the ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed
  • knowledge of cash handling skills, ability to calculate and use basic arithmetic
  • be able to follow written and oral instructions
  • some pre-mixed beverages, such as daiquiris, are served
  • however, beverages of an exotic variety are also prepared
  • the incumbent must have knowledge of the correct proportions and mixtures to use in preparing beverages
  • must be able to present a fine sense of customer relations
  • education: this position is not in a positive education series

  • knowledge of cash handling skills and basic arithmetic

Job Duties

  • Mix and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and resolve problems or seek assistance
  • handle cash transactions and calculate bills using basic arithmetic
  • follow written and oral instructions accurately
  • prepare drinks including pre-mixed and exotic beverages
  • maintain a fine sense of customer relations
  • ensure compliance with safety and service standards
