Job Description
This position is situated within the Food and Beverage Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department in the Navy Region Southwest. The Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department is dedicated to providing essential quality of life services to military members, their families, and authorized patrons. They manage various recreational, social, and leisure activities and venues that enhance morale and promote well-being within the Navy community. As part of this extensive network, the Food and Beverage Division specifically manages food and drink services aimed at enriching experiences for their patrons. The location for this particular role is assigned to NBSD Mainbrace, a key venue under Navy Region Southwest's jurisdiction.
The role focuses on the bartending function, which involves mixing and serving a limited variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. As a bartender within this government-operated recreational setting, the incumbent will be responsible for preparing common and some exotic drinks adhering to precise proportions and mixtures. This position requires not only technical know-how of beverage preparation but also a high degree of customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage potentially challenging situations involving intoxicated or unruly patrons. Cash handling skills and basic arithmetic abilities are critical to ensure accurate transactions.
