Job Requirements

  • must be at least 18 years old
  • ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • willingness to learn and follow safety and sanitation protocols
  • availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • reliable transportation to and from work
  • ability to lift heavy items up to 50 pounds
  • must pass background check and drug screening if required
  • certification required to operate forklift or baler

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous retail or grocery store experience beneficial but not required
  • strong customer service skills
  • ability to operate point-of-sale systems

  • basic equipment operation skills for relevant department

Job Duties

  • promote sales within assigned department
  • answer customers' questions
  • respond to customer requests for products
  • accurately place special orders
  • practice safe food handling procedures
  • maintain clean and safe work area
  • receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment and quality
  • stock, rotate, and merchandise product to maintain freshness and department appeal
  • operate checkstand according to company policies
  • memorize PLU codes
  • order, receive, unload, stock, and rotate products in center store
  • merchandise product and perform POS and inventory activities
  • trim, wash, and wrap produce
  • maintain floral area
  • weigh, wrap, package, and label meat, seafood, baked goods, and deli products
  • provide customer service at product counters
  • take special orders for custom meat cuts and party trays
  • operate equipment such as slicers, ovens, proofers, and mixers
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation throughout the store
  • sweep and mop sales floor, front end, back rooms, and refrigerated areas
  • clean restrooms, break rooms, office areas, shelving, and equipment
  • operate janitorial equipment such as scrubbers and buffers
  • operate forklift and baler if authorized and certified
  • perform other duties as assigned
