The Food and Beverage Server position at Azul Hospitality plays a crucial role in the guest experience by providing friendly, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service. The server is responsible for setting and cleaning tables, accurately taking food and beverage orders, promoting menu items, and ensuring the appropriate service of alcoholic beverages in accordance with legal requirements. This role involves performing opening and closing procedures, maintaining cleanliness in the restaurant outlet, and assisting guests in a professional manner. The job demands attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under moderate to physically demanding conditions such as long standing hours and maneuvering through confined spaces. Physical demands also include lifting, pushing, and pulling equipment, with an emphasis on safety and adherence to company policies. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol
- must speak, read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace
- must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to four hours
- must be able to work in extreme temperatures such as freezers and kitchens
- must be able to lift up to 45 lbs
- must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs
- must maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance according to Azul Hospitality standards
- regular attendance in accordance with company standards is required
- must comply with all company safety, security policies, and operational regulations
- must hold Safe Server Alcohol and Food Handlers certification
Job Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education
- one to three years food service experience preferred
- Micros POS experience preferred
- Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certification required
- knowledge of table and bar service
- knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, and flavor profiles
- good communication skills both verbal and written
- basic computer skills
- basic computational ability
- ability to work independently
- excellent leadership and customer relations skills
- detail oriented with outstanding organizational skills
- ability to effectively deal with customers with patience, tact, and diplomacy
- knowledgeable about Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, and POS
Job Duties
- Greet all guests in a welcoming and friendly manner
- take guest food and beverage orders
- describe menu items, ingredients, and methods of preparation
- suggest menu products to customers
- clear, clean, and reset tables as needed
- verify customers identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
- ensure that minors and intoxicated persons are not served alcoholic beverages
- perform opening and closing procedures and side work duties according to station rotation assignment
- maintain cleanliness of the restaurant area including disposing of waste and cleaning glassware
- participate in deep cleaning of the outlet
- operate a cash register/POS and handle payments accurately
- assist all guests professionally and courteously
- perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
