This employment opportunity is for the position of Food and Beverage Server I, a vital role within the organization that directly influences the overall guest experience. This position is part-time or full-time, with wages dependent upon experience. Starting pay begins at $2.35 per hour plus tips, accompanied by a $500 sign-on bonus for full-time employees who meet attendance and performance standards after 60 days. The role of an F&B Server I involves delivering outstanding food and beverage service to guests in a professional and friendly manner consistent with the prestigious standards of Little America. Servers are responsible for setting up dining areas, taking guest orders with attentiveness, communicating special dietary needs to the kitchen staff, and ensuring that orders are accurately submitted via point-of-sale systems. Additionally, servers must deliver food and drinks efficiently to ensure guest satisfaction, handle payment transactions securely, and maintain cleanliness throughout their workstations and dining areas.
This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and resilience under pressure while maintaining a calm and welcoming attitude. A significant aspect of the job involves compliance with all company policies and local regulations related to food and beverage service. This includes TIPs certification for alcohol service or acquisition of certification within the first 30 days of employment. The server must possess developed knowledge of wines, beers, spirits, and cocktails and be capable of making informed recommendations to enhance the guest dining experience.
Physical demands for the role include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift or transport weights up to 100 pounds with assistance, and work comfortably in indoor and outdoor environments. Job Requirements
- Must be willing to work mornings, weekends and holidays
- Must be reliable and available to work
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours at a time
- Ability to move up to 100 lbs, with wheeled assistance
- Must be able to exert physical effort in transporting or lifting overhead 20-50 or more pounds
Job Qualifications
- Preferred two years of serving experience in a similar resort setting
- Previous cash handling experience is required
- Must be TIPs certified for alcohol service or obtain a TIPs certification within 30 days of hire
- Developed knowledge of wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails with experience selling and presenting wines
- Available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to deal with people in a team-based, service-oriented environment and to perform duties in a manner that is strictly consistent with governmental and/or company standards
- Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor
- Ability to perform repetitive work
Job Duties
- Follow and comply with all Food & Beverage rules of conduct, policies, and procedures
- Set up the dining room and workstation and ensure preparedness for the shift
- Greet the guests in a friendly and professional manner consistent with the Little America experience
- Solicit the guest’s food and beverage order, making suggestions and explaining choices as necessary
- Communicate with the culinary team regarding allergens, dietary needs, or special requests
- Properly submit orders through the point-of-sale system
- Deliver prepared food and beverages to the table, ensuring guest satisfaction
