The role of Guest Service Associate at Towne Park is pivotal in enhancing the customer experience by providing attentive, efficient, and courteous service to guests. This position involves parking and retrieving vehicles safely and promptly, assisting guests with luggage and bell services, and acting as a welcoming representative of the company to visitors. The Guest Service Associate maintains professional conduct, greets guests warmly by name, and offers helpful information regarding the facility and local attractions. Responsibilities also include handling parking rates, issuing claim checks, and maintaining accurate records of vehicle information and transactions. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with shifts typically running from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM and requiring morning availability. Compensation includes a base hourly pay of $11 plus tips ranging from $13 to $16 per hour, providing an attractive earning potential for motivated individuals. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Valid driver’s license for the state applying to work or within a commutable distance
- One month related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of customer and personal service principles
- Ability to read and write standard English language
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group situations
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Ability to understand 24-hour and military time formats
- Ability to understand parking rates and time-based charges
- Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles
- Ability to perform parallel parking
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state you are applying to work, or within a commutable distance from that state
- One month related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
- Ability to read and write standard English language
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to guests, clients and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
- ability to perform these operations using units of American money
- Ability to understand 24 hour and military time systems
- Ability to understand rates applicable to time passed
- Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable
- Ability to perform parallel parking
Job Duties
- Maintain pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with all guests, co-workers, and clients
- Acknowledge and greet guests within five feet using guest last names
- Use salutation of the day and welcome guests to the location
- Practice proper Towne Park phone etiquette
- Post up in designated areas when not completing tasks
- Park and retrieve vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously
- Assist guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed
- Open all vehicle and hotel doors for guests
- Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries
- Provide guests with information about outlets, meeting rooms and/or amenities of the facility as well as main attractions in the area
- Deliver messages, items and/or guest amenities as requested
- Shuttle guests to appropriate approved locations
- Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival
- Issue claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collect claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys
- Complete and maintain all ticket information including key tag, guest folio, location of vehicle, damage survey and claim check receipt
- Calculate and collect revenue for vehicles when needed
