Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of an approved Health Unit Coordinator vocational training course preferred
  • Completion of a basic arrhythmia course preferred
  • One year of patient care experience preferred
  • One year equivalent clerical experience in a medical setting preferred
  • Successful completion of rhythm identification training and EKG telemetry competency test (on the job training provided)

Job Qualifications

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Perform receptionist and communications duties on the patient care unit
  • Observe telemetry monitoring and recognition of cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Support care delivery and services to patients from diverse ethnic and social groups
  • Regularly utilize independent decision-making capacities
  • Use strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively
  • Collaborate with Clinical Director and charge nurse for optimal care delivery and patient services
