This part-time (30 hours per week) position of Mobile Meals Kitchen Vehicle Operator is a critical role within the Mobile Meals program. The primary responsibility involves operating agency vehicles to safely transport prepared meals, coolers, and other essential supplies to various designated meal delivery locations across the region. The Operator also plays an instrumental role in ensuring the accuracy of delivery documentation, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and safety, and managing communication with dispatch and supervisory personnel.
As a Mobile Meals Kitchen Vehicle Operator, you will serve as a trustworthy representative of CAC, interacting with clients and meal sites with professionalism, courtesy, and care. This position requires an individual with a reliable driving record, strong organizational skills, and the physical ability to handle the demands of lifting and transporting substantial loads up to 50 pounds. The role is pivotal in ensuring the uninterrupted delivery of meals that directly impact the well-being of vulnerable community members every day.
Under the supervision of the Mobile Meals Managing Driver Coordinator and day-to-day oversight by the Managing Chef, you will perform duties including driving assigned vehicles on official routes, logging mileage and contributions, maintaining daily communication with dispatchers, and conducting safety checks on vehicles. Attention to detail and the ability to accurately complete required forms and reports are vital attributes for success in this position. Furthermore, the ability to work in varied weather conditions and commit to dependable attendance helps sustain the program's reliability.
The job offers competitive compensation starting at $15.81 per hour, equivalent to approximately $30,829.50 annually based on the weekly hours. CAC provides an excellent benefits package, enhancing job satisfaction and security for its employees. Benefits include employer-paid health insurance, life insurance, pension plan contributions, dental insurance with co-pays, and generous paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
