The role of Bartender at Chihuly Garden and Glass is a full-time hourly position aimed at delivering outstanding food and beverage service that exceeds guests' expectations. This role is integral to creating memorable guest experiences by applying refined guest service skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Bartenders are expected to have comprehensive knowledge of the food, beverages, and service standards that define the Chihuly Garden and Glass experience. The position entails following detailed service modules, including steps of service and timing guidelines, to ensure that every guest receives attentive and courteous treatment. Bartenders will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and operation of mobile bars, stock management, preparation of garnishes and beverages, and ensuring that all offerings meet the high standards of presentation and temperature control. In addition to serving guests directly, bartenders support the team by maintaining cleanliness, assisting with service recovery, and participating in opening and closing duties.
This role requires an experienced professional with at least three years of bartending exposure in a full-service, high-volume setting, a strong knowledge of food and beverage, including wine and food pairings, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Communication skills, grooming standards, and physical endurance to handle duties that involve standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds throughout an average 6-8 hour shift are critical for success. Job Requirements
- Must have a minimum of three-year bartending experience in a high volume, full-service environment
- extensive knowledge of food and beverage including wine and food pairing and suggestive selling techniques
- pass food and beverage questionnaires at 90 percent accuracy
- excellent grooming and communication skills
- ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
- valid Washington State Class 12 or Class 13 Alcohol Service Permit
- valid Washington State Food Handler's Permit
- ability to work well in a team-based environment and maintain a professional demeanor
- walking, standing, reaching, and lifting 30 to 50 lbs entire shift
- must be able to lift 35-50 lbs over one shoulder using large oval tray
- typical shift is approximately 6-8 hours
