Job Description

NGK Ceramics is a leading manufacturing company specializing in the production of high-quality ceramic products used across various industries. With a strong commitment to innovation, safety, and environmental responsibility, NGK Ceramics has built a reputation for delivering products that meet stringent quality standards and customer requirements. The company operates in a dynamic industrial setting, emphasizing continuous improvement and adherence to best manufacturing practices. NGK Ceramics values the well-being of its employees, maintaining a safe work environment and fostering a culture of teamwork and respect. The position available is for a Mixing Operator, a critical role within the P-1 / Continuous Department where the manufacturing process involves the precise mixing of materials essential for the production of dried, formed ceramic products.

The Mixing Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring the mixing process that combines material weigh batches, water, surfactants, dyes, and binders to prepare the raw mixture for extrusion and subsequent firing in kilns. This role is integral to ensuring the quality and specifications of the ceramic products produced. The operator must perform start-up procedures, investigate and respond to alarms, verify batch details, and conduct moisture testing to confirm production standards are met. Additionally, the operator manages the reclaiming process for unused extruded material, contributing to resource efficiency and waste reduction. Safe work practices are paramount, including avoiding forklifts, proper use of personnel doors, and handling overhead hoists carefully. While this role does not have supervisory responsibilities, it requires a high level of attention to detail, technical competency, and adherence to environmental management system protocols.

This non-exempt position falls under job grade NE07 and reports directly to a supervisor within the Continuous Production Department, emphasizing teamwork and communication. The Mixing Operator position offers an opportunity to develop specialized skills in ceramic manufacturing processes and contribute to the company's overall production success. Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, six months of relevant manufacturing or warehousing experience, and demonstrate competency in safety, quality, and technical skills. NGK Ceramics supports ongoing training and certification, such as the CRC Bronze certification and encourages participation in preventive maintenance and workplace organization initiatives like 5S. The job demands physical stamina, the ability to handle moderate lifting, and adaptability to a loud and sometimes challenging manufacturing environment.

Joining NGK Ceramics as a Mixing Operator means becoming part of a well-established company dedicated to quality, safety, and employee growth. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, emphasizing health and safety and providing opportunities for career advancement within the manufacturing sector. This role is well-suited for individuals who are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and motivated to contribute to a team-focused production process.
