This position, Mixer Technician - 1st Shift, is based in Thomasville, North Carolina, and offers an excellent opportunity to join Quanex’s dynamic production team. The Mixer Technician plays a critical role in the production process by preparing batch materials according to production orders, ensuring that mixed materials are delivered efficiently to the production lines for final manufacturing. Working Monday through Thursday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, this role offers a desirable four-day workweek schedule. The hourly wage for this position is $17.00 per hour.
The role involves precise mixing of raw materials according to specified formulas, operating machinery such as mixers and forklifts, and maintaining records of material weights, formulas, and batch numbers. The Mixer Technician ensures the quality and consistency of materials by inspecting for contamination or defects and making necessary adjustments to meet production and quality standards. Working closely with production teams, the technician manages inventory levels, addresses shortages promptly, and operates mixing equipment safely and efficiently. This position calls for strong organizational skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members to sustain a smooth production flow. Job Duties
- Measure and mix raw materials using specified formulas to create material used in production
- operate forklifts, mixers, and other machinery used for mixing and preparation of materials
- maintain adequate supplies of materials for mixing and alert supervision of low inventory
- adjust formulas based on production needs and quality standards
- inspect materials for defects or inconsistencies before mixing
- report and address material quality issues such as contamination or defects
- operate and maintain mixing machines
- maintain accurate records of formulas, adjustments, outputs, material weights, percentages, and batch numbers
- coordinate with production teams to ensure timely delivery of materials to machines
- promptly address issues such as material shortages or machine malfunctions to minimize downtime
