With a commitment to continuous innovation, Quanex enhances the performance and aesthetics of end products, boosts production efficiency for customers, and contributes positively to communities where it operates. The company also prioritizes the growth, learning, and well-being of its employees, fostering an environment where individuals can thrive and achieve success. Located in Thomasville, North Carolina, Quanex is currently seeking a Mixer Technician for the 1st shift to join their dynamic and inclusive team.
The Mixer Technician role at Quanex is instrumental to the production process, responsible for setting up and mixing batch materials according to production orders. The technician plays a critical part in ensuring that the materials are properly prepared and delivered to the production lines to facilitate the final production processes. This position operates on a Monday through Thursday schedule from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, offering a unique 4-day work week which promotes work-life balance. The position offers an hourly wage of $17.00, along with significant benefits such as a competitive salary structure, bonus potential, a company-matched 401(k) plan, medical, dental, and vision coverage, and paid time off.
In this role, the Mixer Technician will be tasked with measuring and mixing raw materials according to specified formulas to create production-use materials. The role requires operating forklifts, mixers, and other machinery essential for the mixing process. Maintaining adequate supply levels and promptly communicating any shortages or quality issues is a crucial aspect of this job. The technician must also inspect materials for defects or inconsistencies post-mixing and adjust formulas as required to meet quality and production standards. Accurate record-keeping of formulas, adjustments, and batch outputs is necessary to ensure traceability and quality control. The Mixer Technician will collaborate closely with production teams to ensure the timely delivery of mixed materials, addressing any equipment malfunctions or production barriers swiftly to minimize downtime.
Successful candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, experience driving forklifts, proficiency with pneumatic and hydraulic tools, and excellent organizational abilities. The role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and are committed to maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Quanex supports its employees through various programs including employee resource groups, tuition assistance, and a culture that values diversity and empowerment.
This opportunity provides a dynamic work environment with a strong culture built around teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement. Employees benefit from comprehensive wage and benefits packages, and a commitment to professional development and community involvement. Quanex is truly a part of something bigger, and joining the team means becoming part of a company that values its people as much as its products. Experience a rewarding career where your skills directly impact product quality and operational success, contributing to the growth of a recognized global manufacturing leader.
