Job Description
McCain Foods USA, Inc. is a leading global food manufacturing company with a rich history rooted in providing quality, innovative food products to consumers worldwide. As a family-owned business, McCain prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture where employees are empowered to learn, grow, and thrive. With a commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence, McCain combines tradition with modern technology to maintain its position as an industry leader in food manufacturing. The company operates in diverse communities across the globe and values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity for all employees. McCain's mission centers around creating exceptional work experiences that prioritize safety, well-being, and professional development for all team members.
The role of Mixer Operator Flex on the 2nd shift is a full-time, regular position within McCain Foods USA, Inc., offering a starting hourly wage of $26.21 plus bonus eligibility and shift differential pay where applicable. This role involves hands-on operation of blending and shredding machinery used in the food manufacturing process. Specifically, the Mixer Operator is responsible for ensuring that product mixtures meet strict quality and safety standards as outlined in product specification sheets, while adhering to company policies and procedures. This position works strictly within a manufacturing environment that may expose workers to various physical and environmental conditions including loud noises, strong odors, temperature changes, and machinery vibration.
A typical day in this role includes operating blending equipment like shredders, cheese grinders, hoists, and weigh scales while maintaining cleanliness and proper functionality of all machinery. The operator records and verifies raw materials, completes checklists, and ensures batch accuracy, all while applying product-specific formulas and strictly following Good Manufacturing Practices and safety guidelines. The Mixer Operator also plays a leadership role by coaching and training team members in mixing and sanitation, fostering a productive and collaborative work environment.
Physically, this role demands the ability to perform various movements—climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling—and requires strong sensory skills including vision and communication. Shift hours are from 2 PM to 10 PM, Monday through Friday, with a scheduled transition to a Raw Material Operator role on the AM Shift in September 2026. McCain emphasizes a culture of continuous learning and technology adoption, expecting the Mixer Operator to embrace digital tools for data entry and operational efficiency.
Within McCain, leadership principles focus on customer-first thinking, innovation, empowerment, ownership, and collaborative success. Employees are encouraged to bring a positive attitude, attention to detail, and adaptability to the workplace. The company supports its workforce with competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including insurance coverage from day one, 401k matching, paid time off, and education reimbursement. McCain’s commitment to employee safety and well-being is reflected in its extensive health plans, wellness programs, and inclusive workplace practices. This role offers not only a chance to contribute meaningfully to a respected global brand but also opportunities for career growth within a supportive and dynamic environment.
