Job Description
This position is with a food production company that specializes in manufacturing baked goods. The company is committed to delivering high-quality products while ensuring safety and efficiency throughout the production process. As a well-established player in the food manufacturing industry, the company values employees who uphold strict adherence to food safety standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). This role plays a critical part in the production line, focusing specifically on dough preparation, which is a foundational step in the baking process. The company provides a full-time employment type with a non-exempt status, highlighting its full compliance with labor regulations and offering an opportunity for stable, secure work within a dynamic production environment.
The dough preparation operator will be responsible for executing essential tasks that ensure the quality and consistency of dough used in production. The role demands a thorough understanding of formulas, operational readiness of equipment, and strict attention to detail when measuring and mixing ingredients. Operators are required to program industrial mixers, monitor dough temperature, and make necessary adjustments to maintain product standards. This position also includes labeling and documenting each batch according to company protocols, which supports traceability and inventory management. Training of new hires and communication with management about equipment maintenance and safety incidents are additional responsibilities that underscore the leadership and teamwork elements of the role.
Working in this position requires proficiency in both English and Spanish, accommodating a diverse workforce and facilitating clear communication across shifts. The job mandates physical stamina, including standing and walking for extended periods and the ability to lift or carry significant weights up to 50 pounds. Operators must be comfortable in varying temperature conditions and exposed to noise levels typical of food production plants, necessitating the use of protective gear and adherence to safety protocols.
Flexibility is another key element, as shifts vary and may include evenings and weekends. The candidate’s adaptability to a multi-shift schedule is critical for maintaining continuous production flow. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to food safety by following and enforcing current Good Manufacturing Practices and related pre-requisite programs. This role is ideal for motivated individuals seeking a hands-on position in food manufacturing, with opportunities to develop skills in production operations, quality assurance, and team leadership. Overall, this job offers a vital opportunity to contribute to a reputable food production company while ensuring the safety and satisfaction of customers through quality product output.
