These associates deliver high-quality food and service in a variety of environments including award-winning restaurants, corporate cafes, hospitals, schools, arenas, museums, and many more. The company’s dedication to culinary innovation and client satisfaction has enabled it to expand continuously and shape the foodservice industry, creating new opportunities for employees and partners alike. Recognized globally for its commitment to excellence, Compass Group USA fosters an inclusive, collaborative, and supportive work environment where individuals can thrive and grow their careers. Joining Compass Group means becoming part of a passionate team focused on feeding communities and exceeding customer expectations through innovative and caring service.
The position of Resident District Manager (RDM) at Compass Group offers a unique opportunity for experienced leaders in contract food services to manage large multi-unit dining accounts. As an RDM, you will be the primary point of contact for the client and lead your team in delivering exceptional service and operational excellence. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and directing all activities within your assigned account to meet both operational and financial goals. Your leadership will directly influence team morale, client satisfaction, and overall account success. You will cultivate strong relationships with clients, ensuring all needs are met or exceeded, while also seeking cross-selling opportunities and supporting contract rebids as necessary.
This role demands a strategic leader who can inspire diverse teams, implement best practices, and uphold company standards in a dynamic environment. The RDM must ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety, sanitation, and operational procedures. Leading safety initiatives, marketing efforts, nutrition, and culinary functions within the operation forms a key part of the job scope. The position includes financial ownership of the account's results with accountability for accurate reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
The ideal candidate for the Resident District Manager position will have a bachelor’s degree coupled with at least three years of management experience preferably in foodservice, hospitality, plant operations, or support services. Proven success in business and team leadership is essential, coupled with strong customer service skills and financial acumen. Effective communication, critical thinking, and organizational abilities are fundamental to thrive in this role. Additionally, candidates who champion inclusivity and resilience, and who possess proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office and POS software, will excel.
Occasional travel may be required to oversee multiple sites and nurture strong client and community relationships. Compass Group USA is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion and encourages all qualified candidates to apply regardless of race, sex, age, disability, or other protected status. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package recognizing the contributions of its associates and supporting their well-being and career development. If you are a motivated, strategic leader seeking to grow your career with an industry leader, the Resident District Manager opportunity at Compass Group is an excellent fit.
