Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum two years previous experience as a front desk supervisor or four years front office experience
  • Must have total understanding of hotel front office procedures
  • Working knowledge of guest services, hotel policies and operations
  • High school level mathematical aptitude
  • Knowledge of cash handling and computerized cash register systems
  • Experience dealing directly with the public
  • Fluent in oral and written English
  • Ability to use tact and understanding in customer service
  • Highly organized and able to multitask
  • Excellent comprehension and literacy

Job Duties

  • Respond in a professional and courteous manner to arriving, departing and in-house guests providing accurate and timely information and services
  • Supervise daily operations of Guest Services personnel promoting safe environment and quality services
  • Greet and complete check-in procedures for guests using manual and computerized methods
  • Facilitate guest departure (check-out) by following manual and computer procedures to close guest accounts
  • Ensure front desk team calculates and posts monies, receipts, guest accounts accurately
  • Answer inquiries and accept reservations using suggestive selling techniques to increase occupancy and revenue
  • Maintain good guest relations by being knowledgeable of in-house and area functions
  • Operate PBX equipment managing incoming and outgoing calls
  • Control cash transactions and maintain responsibility for personal bank according to hotel policy
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor
  • Assist with performance evaluations, discipline and terminations
  • Coordinate guest services including group arrivals, departures and transportation
  • Foster relations with valet, taxi and airport services to ensure quality service
  • Provide information about local restaurants, events and activities
  • Order supplies and maintain inventory control
  • Follow up on guest complaints to ensure quality experience
  • Implement emergency training and procedures
  • Provide weekly associate schedules and manage coverage for call-offs
  • Ensure communication on hotel activities meets guest needs
  • Train all new hires and associates on hotel systems and procedures
  • Motivate department and ensure completion of daily duties
  • Participate in hotel MOD program and Safety Committee meetings
  • Provide assistance to other departments to optimize performance
