Job Description

Doctors Hospital of Laredo, located in Laredo, Texas, is a well-established 183-bed acute care medical facility providing a comprehensive range of healthcare services to the community. The role available is full-time and designed for a dedicated supervisory professional to manage and coordinate the daily activities of all Environmental Services and Linen personnel. This position is critical in maintaining the hospital environment to be sanitary, attractive, and orderly, directly impacting patient safety and satisfaction. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the cleaning and linen services, ensuring that departmental objectives are met by delivering high-quality environmental services consistently. As the Environmental Services Supervisor, the individual will conduct daily inspections, coordinate staff schedules and workload, oversee supply inventory and procurement, and provide extensive training to staff members, helping to maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

This role includes facilitating communication among staff and leadership, addressing quality concerns promptly, and leading the department through leadership by example and hands-on supervision. The supervisor will also assist in managing the department's operating budget and participate in performance surveys and studies to identify improvements. Serving as a resource person, this role ensures that team members are aware of new industry standards, cleaning technologies, and operational trends to keep the hospital's hygiene and safety standards at the highest level. The position requires strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively within a fast-paced healthcare environment. Candidates with prior experience in healthcare environmental services will find the transition into this role beneficial due to the specialized nature of hospital sanitation.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Environmental Services supervisory or managerial capacity
  • Prior supervisory experience required
  • Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Demonstrated self-starter with problem-solving skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive employee relations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and conversational Spanish
  • Good teaching and training abilities
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • High attention to detail and quality orientation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • At least 2 years experience in Environmental Services supervisory or managerial role

Job Duties

  • Manage daily activities of cleaning and linen staff
