Job Requirements

  • more than two years of post high school education
  • one to two full years of employment in related position with this company or other organizations
  • working knowledge of banquet/catering food and beverage services policies or operations
  • knowledge of computer equipment
  • ability to compile facts and figures as per established procedures
  • supervisory skills needed
  • communication skills required for providing information and services to hotel management and guests
  • excellent hearing for verbal interaction with guests and associates
  • excellent vision for viewing set-ups

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • plan organize and manage in-house details for large group and convention booking e.g. guest rooms menus set-up
  • participate in negotiating meetings/functions rooms rates and related requirements
  • ensure maximization of room and meeting space revenues and profits while delivering quality product
  • execute all aspects of event planning including coordination from contract signing VIP needs amenities group resumes and rooming lists
  • manage and plan meetings/conventions and related activities
  • attend banquet event order and staff meetings act as team leader for hotel department staff during event delivery
  • achieve minimum 90 percent productivity goals and 100 percent activity goals per management
  • coordinate all group business developed by sales manager follow-up on signed/contracted business within 5 working days
  • maintain accurate organized up to date file management
  • develop customer profiles and maintain effective trace system for superior account service and increased revenues
  • develop strong customer relationships through professional courteous ethical interaction
  • follow up on client needs and inquiries efficiently
  • focus on revenue-generating activities maximize selling time retain accounts maximize account yield opportunities and sales effectiveness
  • detail up-sell and verify program with client including space requirements audio-visual equipment menus themes decorations prepare resumes and paperwork to ensure quality service
  • manage function details anticipate and handle customer complaints ensure quality delivery customer satisfaction repeat business
  • oversee all billing details for hotel groups including deposits direct bill applications credit card authorizations coordinate with accounting
  • participate in development of new sales tools and systems analyze competitors products understand and satisfy customers needs
  • monitor and control individual client event budgets maximize revenues minimize expenses ensure quality product delivery
  • attend and lead pre-conference meetings coordinate pre-con between client and staff review banquet event order details with all parties
  • close out all groups including sales system pickup commission processing with accounting
