The role of a Production Superintendent at Kroger Manufacturing is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of production activities within the manufacturing plant. This role ensures the maximum operating efficiency and product quality by supervising and coordinating the planning, execution, and direction of production operations. The Production Superintendent leads the development of operations resource leaders and supports continuous improvement efforts aimed at enhancing plant performance. The position places a strong emphasis on maintaining safety, quality, and reliability (SQR) standards, aligned with Kroger's Customer 1st strategy. The Superintendent will directly engage with multiple departments including maintenance, sanitation, quality control, sales, and marketing to ensure seamless coordination and communication across the plant.

In addition to managing day-to-day production activities, the Production Superintendent is responsible for budgeting, policy recommendations, and the implementation of lean manufacturing and total process control practices. Leadership responsibilities include coaching direct reports, conducting performance reviews, and fostering a positive and engaging work environment that develops the skills and potential of department managers and associates. Safety is paramount in this role, requiring adherence to established safety programs and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality regulations. A strong background in food manufacturing operations and proven leadership ability are essential for success in this role. The Production Superintendent must also be highly organized, detail-oriented, and demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively lead the plant towards meeting its production goals and customer satisfaction objectives.
