Job Description
ECMD is a 100 percent employee-owned company dedicated to improving the lives of its employees while maintaining a steadfast commitment to integrity and innovation. Founded by visionary entrepreneurs who revolutionized the modern building materials global supply chain, ECMD has grown into a leading supplier in the building materials industry. Rooted in small-town, rural, southern values, ECMD values honesty, transparency, and a down-to-earth approach to business that fosters a close-knit culture and a family-like atmosphere among its employees. This culture combined with a passion for delivering exceptional service to its customers forms the foundation of the company’s ongoing success.
ECMD specializes in partnering with big-box retail and professional lumber yard customers nationwide, providing a world-class supply chain for a wide range of building materials. Their portfolio includes eight strategic operating divisions: EastCoast Mouldings, Klumb Forest Products, Crown Heritage Stairs, ECMD Distribution, Arndt & Herman Building Products, Clifton Moulding Co., Madison Lumber Company, and Falls City Lumber Company. This extensive network enables the company to offer a comprehensive selection of products to builders, remodelers, finish carpenters, and consumers alike, supporting projects ranging from small renovations to dream home constructions.
The role offered is based in the Nueces County area and is focused on merchandising, managing, and stocking inventory—specifically millwork and other building products such as mouldings, columns, boards/lumber, and stair parts—within Lowe's retail stores. This position is vital in maintaining an efficient stocking process and ensuring that the merchandising and signage within these retail locations meet high standards to promote sales growth effectively. The representative will utilize technology such as iPhones or handheld devices to maintain accurate inventory data, submit order information, and facilitate daily operational tasks.
A significant aspect of this role involves daily travel across a designated geographical region, typically using a company-provided vehicle. Therefore, candidates must have a clean and acceptable driving record accompanied by a valid driver’s license. Physical requirements include the ability to repetitively lift and carry weights up to 75 pounds, highlighting the role’s active and hands-on nature.
Additionally, this position demands a self-motivated individual with exceptional attention to merchandising detail, ready to work independently with a flexible schedule. Effective communication and relationship-building skills are crucial as the representative will foster strong partnerships with both suppliers and customers to stimulate sales growth. The role also requires proficiency with general office technology, including fax machines, copiers, smartphones, and computers, and involves regular market shops, price shops, and survey submissions as directed by management.
In summary, this position with ECMD represents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, employee-owned company with a rich heritage in the building materials industry. It offers not only a chance to grow professionally in a vital logistics and merchandising role but also to share in company success through an employee stock ownership plan and a robust benefits package. Candidates interested in joining a company built on integrity and small-town values will find ECMD an excellent fit for their skills and career goals.
