Job Description

O'Reilly Auto Parts is a leading automotive aftermarket parts retailer in the United States, known for its extensive network and commitment to customer service excellence. Founded in 1957, the company has grown from a single store to a nationwide chain with thousands of locations, offering a wide range of automotive parts, tools, and accessories. O'Reilly Auto Parts is recognized for its strong promote-from-within philosophy, providing ample opportunities for career growth and development. With a focus on team member well-being, competitive wages, and comprehensive benefits, it has established a reputation as a stable and rewarding workplace for professionals in the automotive retail sector.

The role of a Merchandiser and Cashier at O'Reilly Auto Parts is a dynamic position blending customer service, sales floor merchandising, and security responsibilities. This position is tailored for individuals who are personable, organized, and capable of maintaining high standards on the sales floor while efficiently handling checkout responsibilities. The hourly compensation for this role ranges from $11.41 to $20.30, reflecting experience and specific job location wage requirements, with additional premiums possible depending on schedules, facilities, and performance. Bilingual candidates, particularly those fluent in Spanish, are highly encouraged to apply.

As a Merchandiser, you will greet customers, assist them in locating merchandise, and ensure the sales floor stays fully stocked and visually appealing according to company guidelines and planograms. You will be responsible for price changes, maintaining sale signage, and managing stock adjustments, cycle counts, and returns. Merchandisers also play a vital role in theft deterrence and front floor security, acting as the primary shoplifting deterrent. Additionally, teamwork is essential as you collaborate with managers to complete store tasks and uphold the O'Reilly image standards.

In the Cashier capacity, you will check out customers promptly and courteously, manage merchandise returns, and provide assistance during busy counter times, including handling a variety of payment methods such as cash, credit, and checks. This dual-role emphasizes not only the importance of customer satisfaction but also operational efficiency and security within the store environment.

O'Reilly Auto Parts values organizational skills, interpersonal communication, and numerical aptitude for successful candidates. Previous experience in cashiering or stocking is preferred but not mandatory. The ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle is considered a plus, alongside fluency in multiple languages. The total compensation package includes competitive wages, paid time off, a stock purchase plan with 401k employer contributions from day one, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options, health and wellbeing programs, tuition assistance, and clear career advancement opportunities.

Joining O'Reilly Auto Parts means becoming part of a diverse and inclusive workplace that respects and promotes equal opportunity regardless of race, sex, age, disability, or veteran status. The company is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to individuals with disabilities throughout the application and employment process. This role provides a solid foundation to grow within a large and trusted automotive retail organization while delivering excellent service and operational excellence.
