As a Merchandise Cast Member at Aulani, you will play a key role in enhancing the guest experience by providing excellent customer service and helping guests discover unique products that capture the essence of their visit.
The role of Merchandise Cast Member involves assisting in the daily operations of various retail locations within the resort, including Klepa's Store, Hale Manu boutique, The Lava Shack poolside shop, and several special event or pop-up locations. Each location offers distinct merchandise, from artisanal island delights and grocery essentials to high-end fashion and swimwear, ensuring a diverse and engaging work environment. Responsibilities include proactive guest service, retail transactions, pin trading assistance, grocery delivery to guest rooms, and maintaining stock and visual standards on the sales floor.
This position requires a mix of indoor and outdoor work, flexibility, and a welcoming attitude to greet and assist guests throughout their stay. The role offers a dynamic experience where you can contribute to creating magical moments for visitors while gaining valuable retail and customer service skills. Part-time availability with weekend and holiday work is expected, along with a competitive pay rate of $29.17 per hour. Job Requirements
- Follow open/close procedures for cashiering role, including counting and balancing funds at shift start and end
- Follow proper cash handling procedures
- Adhere to loss prevention guidelines
- Willingness to work in specialized areas with additional training
- Must be available all Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays
- Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during training
- Part-time availability
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Basic mathematical skills
- Sales experience helpful
- Comfortable with suggestive selling
- Knowledge of Hawaiian or Japanese language preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Enhance guest experience through strong product awareness and proactive selling techniques
- Greet and thank guests as they enter and exit locations, assist with directions and event schedules, provide samples
- Process merchandise transactions following proper POS procedures
- Share pin trading knowledge and personalize items such as hats and leather goods
- Deliver grocery items to guest rooms throughout the resort
- Unload and process products while maintaining productivity and visual standards
- Straighten and detail merchandise by zone, identify out-of-stock items, and replenish sales fixtures
