Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and HACCP compliance
  • Ability to work full time Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm PST
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks in kitchen
  • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies including drug-free workplace and pre-employment testing

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or in progress preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of culinary skills and ability to cook for a difficult population
  • Ability to adjust recipes to meet nutritional needs and taste preferences
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience managing kitchen operations
  • Knowledge of HACCP and food safety regulations
  • Ability to maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Customer service orientation
  • Capacity to train and develop staff

Job Duties

  • Report directly to the Executive Chef
  • Manage kitchen and dining room operations during scheduled shifts
  • Ensure adherence to all site policies and procedures
  • Oversee food production including production sheets, temperature logs, and FIFO rotation
  • Follow all food safety and physical safety rules
  • Ensure meals are prepared and served on time
  • Oversee dishwashing and garbage removal
  • Adhere to all kitchen, dining room, and site HACCP procedures
  • Manage shift staff ensuring cleaning and sanitizing procedures are followed
  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of food supplies
  • Provide friendly, efficient customer service using proper portioning and service techniques
  • Handle client complaints and concerns promptly and escalate as necessary
  • Train kitchen employees in all operational aspects
  • Conduct frequent inspections of kitchen and dining areas and correct deficiencies
  • Maintain effective communication with Executive Chef and staff
  • Foster positive relationships across all departments
  • Ensure kitchen staff maintain hygiene, grooming, and appearance standards
