Job Requirements

  • Cash handling experience desired
  • Sales experience desired
  • Customer service experience desired
  • Thorough knowledge of deposit products and regulations
  • Accuracy in handling cash and recording transactions
  • Good telephone manners
  • Ability to work with minimal direction
  • Member account problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with computer applications including spreadsheets and databases
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective team relationships
  • Must be bondable
  • Reports punctually and works scheduled hours including overtime if necessary
  • Interpersonal skills to positively represent the credit union

Job Duties

  • Adheres to the Credit Union Service Standards in carrying out GreenState's mission and vision
  • Demonstrates a positive member service focus at all times by greeting members warmly and acknowledging them by name
  • Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in completing responsibilities
  • Ensures confidentiality of member information and account records
  • Supports a diverse and inclusive work environment
  • Makes weekly outbound service calls to members
  • Answers member questions or refers them to appropriate departments or supervisors
  • Assists with member account discrepancies, statement problems, and complaints, escalating as necessary
  • Performs member transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, check cashing, loan payments, credit card payments, cash advances, bond redemptions, disbursement of official checks, sales of money orders and cashier checks, savings bonds, and promotional sales materials
  • Builds member relationships by recognizing financial needs and referring members to specialized departments when appropriate
  • Maintains a satisfactory balancing record
  • Educates members and staff on the features and benefits of all products and services
  • Accepts and examines checks for endorsements and negotiability
  • Processes mail and night deposit transactions
  • Completes all necessary forms including negotiable instrument logs and direct deposit forms
  • Participates in Opening and Closing procedures, ensuring all equipment is powered down and confidential information secured
  • Balances and reconciles drawer offages daily
  • Monitors and manages the vault, ensuring proper cash levels and end-of-day lockup
  • Assists in security procedures and is accountable for office keys and combinations
  • Balances and maintains the coin machine and cash recyclers
  • Participates in community service and credit union sponsored events to enrich the community
