The Event Planner position at Marriott International plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless coordination and execution of events throughout the property's operations. This role is responsible for preparing all necessary event documentation and coordinating efforts between the sales team, various property departments, and customers to maintain a consistent high level of service during the pre-event, event, and post-event phases. The position primarily handles events of average complexity, ensuring a smooth transition from sales to service and back to sales, while identifying opportunities to maximize revenue by suggesting up-sells and event enhancements that elevate the guest experience.
Event Planners at Marriott are crucial in managing event logistics, greeting customers during events, overseeing billing accuracy, and managing group room blocks and meeting spaces for assigned groups. They act as the liaison between the sales team and customers, participate in site inspections, and continuously seek feedback from property departments to improve the event planning and execution process. Exceptional customer service is a core part of this role, requiring active engagement with guests throughout the event process, promptly addressing any issues or complaints, and implementing improvements based on feedback.
Additionally, Event Planners lead event management teams by conducting pre- and post-event meetings, facilitating communication among team members, and coordinating various meetings necessary for successful event execution. They support sales and marketing functions by assisting in the sales process, revenue forecasting, and up-selling services and products to increase profitability. Human resource responsibilities also fall within this role, including reviewing guest satisfaction, providing employee feedback, and assisting in developing corrective action plans to enhance service quality.

This position offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health care benefits, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) plan, accrued paid time off, life insurance, disability coverage, and other wellness benefits.
