Job Requirements
- Active registered nurse license or paramedic certification
- Basic life support certification for healthcare providers
- Certification(s) appropriate to area(s) of practice such as PALS, ACLS, NRC
- Ventilation lab, equipment lab, procedure lab, and survival training completed within three months of hire and maintained annually
- Advanced certification as RN as appropriate to area of practice such as CFRN, CEN, CCRN, or C-NPT
- Obtain CFRN certification within two years of hire if RN
- Obtain flight paramedic or critical care transport paramedic certification within two years of hire
- Obtain advanced trauma transport certification within one year of hire
- Must weigh less than 206 pounds fully dressed at time of hire and maintain that weight if working in air medical transport
- Ability to work in moving aircraft, ground ambulance, hospital, and outdoor environments
- Exposure to noise, vibration, dehydrating environments, and potentially infectious diseases
- Ability to see and read information, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies
Job Qualifications
- Current registered nurse license in state of practice or current relevant certification to practice as a paramedic
- Basic life support for healthcare providers certification
- Appropriate certifications such as PALS, ACLS, NRC as required by area of practice
- Advanced certifications (CFRN, CEN, CCRN, or C-NPT) for registered nurses as appropriate
- Flight paramedic certification (FP-C) or critical care transport paramedic certification (CCTP) obtained within two years of hire
- Advanced trauma transport certification obtained within one year of hire
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience in clinical care and emergency response
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety protocols
Job Duties
- Lead teams of medical transport clinical caregivers and manage staffing, performance, and development
- Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide medical care and transport for pediatric and adult patients
- Serve as liaison between leadership and team to facilitate discussion and decision-making
- Ensure compliance with Intermountain Healthcare and regulatory standards such as CAMTS, CLIA, DEA, and FAA
- Collaborate with Aviation, Education, Quality Assurance, Safety, Logistics and Compliance departments to support education and process improvement
- Complete supervisory tasks including payroll, scheduling, data requests, communications, KPI development, and accounting
- Promote caregiver adherence to safety practices, policies, procedures, and initiatives
- Lead special projects related to medical transport clinical operations
